Originally released on cassette in an edition of 3 copies. Recorded direct to tape on either December 19th, 2010 with some digital editing.

Ambersmoke was initially formed as a satirical black metal project heavily influenced by the aesthetic and mythos of Velvet Cacoon and similar projects. Cadenscene Greynights (a meaningless combination of the words "cadence" and "scene") was recorded the same day the project was formed and released shortly after with nearly impossible ordering instructions which required mailing a specific amount in coins minted prior to a certain year and postmarked on a particular day of the week.

Unsurprisingly, none of the copies were sold during the initial ordering period and all 3 were distributed through other means over the following years. As far as I know of, only one copy actually circulates publicly today.

Following the release, one show was performed to a small audience the following month (intentionally left unrecorded, only a handwritten setlist exists as evidence) and Ambersmoke was officially laid to rest until it was rebooted late the following year.

For years the original lossless renders had been lost and even the cassettes were dubbed from a lossy copy. In mid 2020, the lossless masters were recovered and two instrumental versions were found with them. Both instrumentals have been made available here as bonus tracks.
