about

Originally released on cassette in an edition of 20 copies. Recorded throughout spring and summer 2013 except Carnivore recorded late 2003 or early 2004.

Designed to be a companion piece with Une femme est une femme, Nothing Touches You Anymore represents a new direction in sound from what had been done previously with the Ambersmoke name.

Quiet Eyes and Gloom in Bloom, which make up the entirety of side A, are "full band" reworkings of two older songs (though to be fair, Gloom in Bloom is a complete rewrite and shares no similarities with the version released on We Lived Our Lives in Black) while side B is comprised of more experimental free improv pieces recorded over the years.

For this reissue, I've sourced the album from a pre-cassette digital copy which sounds far better than previous issues. In addition, a full recording of the October 2013 full band live performance is presented as bonus tracks as well as rough mixes of the songs that make up side A.
