Originally released on cassette on for our second US tour. Tracks 1-9 (side A) recorded July 2015, tracks 10-14 (side B) recorded September 2017.

The original sessions which make up side A were done over a few days in late July 2015 on a Portastudio 424 and whatever equipment in the Crisis Arm practice space I could find. Many, if not all of these songs, were completely improvised usually with a guitar track going down first, then a melodic overdub, followed by drums. The plan had been to turn this into the next Ambersmoke full length, packaged with an elaborate zine with photos and short stories. A tape released in November 2015 featured several of these tracks and an interview was done around the same time to discuss details about the upcoming album, however when the duo lineup came to be we very quickly wrote and recorded an entirely different set of songs and Prairie Flowers fell by the wayside despite extremely positive early reception to the material.

When brainstorming ideas for a cassette to bring with us on our second US tour in 2017, the idea of properly issuing Prairie Flowers was floated and ultimately resonated pretty well with the ideas we had for our music at the time. Another set of songs were made as a spiritual successor to flesh out the short runtime of the original sessions which became the B side of the 2017 tour cassette.

Both sides are presented here exactly as they were on the tour cassette which, unfortunately, means that side A is from a less than stellar source but preserves the original mix as intended. In preparing for these reissues, the original 4 track master tape was found but no mix notes were kept to recreate the sound of the original roughs.
