about

Originally released on cassette via Auburnhouse with an unknown limitation and a second printing done the following year in an edition of 10. Physical copies included an insert and exclusive bonus track, a version of which is presented here for the first time digitally.

In a lot of ways Psychedelic Violence feels like a lost album. Writing these liner notes has been a struggle because my memories of this album are extremely hazy compared to anything else in the discography and only a few songs would ever enter the live set.

What I can remember is the album was written and recorded very quickly, probably in the span of 2 or 3 weeks. Unlike most of the other albums from this period which were assembled from songs written and recorded over long stretches of time, all the songs on Psychedelic Violence had to have been written in a week or less. Interestingly, another full album was written & recorded just weeks before the Psychedelic Violence sessions began. I'm not sure anymore why the other album was scrapped and why instead I chose to write 7 completely new songs. Unfortunately, there are no plans to ever issue this other unreleased album beyond a song or two that have appeared on other releases.
